Do you know how to select a high-efficiency plate heat exchanger?

The selection of a high-efficiency plate heat exchanger is very important, but many people don't know how to choose. According to the differences in user needs, plate heat exchangers are divided into multiple models and specifications. So how do you choose a suitable plate heat exchanger? Today, we will share the details from the following three aspects.

High-efficiency plate heat exchangerSelection is very important, but many friends don't know how to choose. According to the differences in user needs, plate heat exchangers are divided into multiple models and specifications. So how do you choose the right plate heat exchanger for yourself? Today, we will share the details from the following three aspects.

The selection of plate heat exchangers mainly depends on these three aspects: plate type selection, pressure drop check, and how to choose flow channels and processes.

I. Plate Type Selection

Plate types or corrugated types are customized according to the application site of the plate heat exchanger. Brazed or detachable heat exchangers are selected according to the temperature and pressure of the fluid. When the flow rate is large and the pressure drop is small, a plate type with low resistance can be selected, and vice versa. When selecting the plate type, do not select a plate with a small area, because if the number of plates is too large, the flow rate between the plates will be too small, affecting the heat transfer efficiency.

II. Pressure Drop Check

InHigh-efficiency plate heat exchangerselection, there are also certain pressure regulations, and pressure drop check is carried out. If the checked pressure drop exceeds the allowable pressure drop, the selection and calculation will be carried out again until the process standard is stopped.

III. Selection of Flow Channels and Processes

The flow channel is the medium flow channel formed between two adjacent plates in the plate heat exchanger, while the process refers to a group of parallel channels in the heat exchanger where the medium has the same flow direction. Therefore, when selecting a plate heat exchanger, the process composition method should be based on the fluid resistance and heat transfer. Under the condition of ensuring that the process requirements can be met, the convective heat transfer coefficients in the hot and cold flow channels should be as close as possible or equal to achieve the best heat transfer effect.

Process selection: When the flow rate on one side is small, it is arranged in multiple processes. When the medium has a large temperature difference or high temperature, multiple processes can also be adopted.

Four points to note when selecting a plate heat exchanger:

1. The flow rate at the fluid inlet with a small temperature difference should not be too large.

2. When selecting plates, the area should not be too small.

3. Try to choose the side with a smaller heat transfer coefficient to obtain a larger flow rate.

4. For large flow rates and small allowable pressure drops, plate types with low resistance should be selected.
