Precautions for using plate heat exchangers


Plate heat exchangers are widely used in the chemical, petroleum, and metallurgical industries. In recent years, with the rapid development of coal chemical enterprises, the types of media have become increasingly complex and diverse. Problems such as salt accumulation, scaling, blockage, and corrosion in heat exchangers have become increasingly prominent, leading to frequent leaks in enterprise heat exchangers and causing some hidden dangers and problems for enterprises. So what should be paid attention to during the operation of heat exchangers? 1. Operating precautions for plate heat exchangers.

Problems such as salt accumulation, scaling, blockage, and corrosion in heat exchanger units have become increasingly prominent, leading to frequent leaks in enterprise heat exchanger units and causing some hidden dangers and problems for enterprises. So what should be paid attention to during the operation of the heat exchanger unit?

1.Slow start-up in the initial operation stage, sufficient preheating is required to gradually increase the temperature;

2.After the pressure reducing valve is put into operation, preheating and adjustment work should be carried out;

3.When the unit starts up, the cold side valve should be opened first, and the hot side valve should be opened after stabilization; when stopping, the hot side valve should be closed first, and then the cold side valve should be closed.

4.After the plate heat exchanger unit is running normally, close the bypass valve of the steam-water heat exchanger unit drain valve (not shown in the diagram), and the drain valve will work normally. If the drain valve temperature is too low, such as below50,the bypass valve can be opened for operation; if the drain valve temperature is too high, such as90above, the condensate system is running without pressure, the bypass valve will be closed to prevent steam from passing through, causing steam-water impact;

The plate heat exchanger unit should be reasonably selected, otherwise the heat exchanger unit is easily damaged. When selecting a fixed tube plate heat exchanger unit, the tube-shell stress caused by thermal expansion should not exceed the design stress range, otherwise it is easy to cause deformation and damage of the structural material. Expansion joints should be used to improve the stress, or floating heads orUtype pipes should be used to ensure that the tube bundle can expand and contract freely.

When the design pressure of the low-pressure side of the heat exchanger unit is less than2/3of the design pressure of the high-pressure side, the pressure can be effectively released. Strengthen operation testing and monitoring, strengthen daily testing, and normal shift patrol personnel are equipped with portable combustible gas detectors and toxic and harmful gas detectors (“four-in-one” detection and alarm devices). Once a slight change in the process operating parameters of a heat exchange equipment is found or suspected abnormalities and internal leaks are found, portable instrument detection, analysis, and monitoring equipment should be used to check and confirm the internal leaks of each heat exchange equipment.

Strengthen management, strictly follow procedures and process requirements, and strictly prohibit exceeding temperature, pressure, and overload operation. Implement equipment condition monitoring, strictly maintain and regularly overhaul equipment, and ensure that the plate heat exchanger unit equipment is in good condition.
