Overview
When the heat source is steam, traditional shell-and-tube heat exchangers are used. These heat exchangers have low heat transfer coefficients (1000W/m2.C), large volume, and difficult-to-remove scaling. Plate heat exchangers, however, can achieve heat transfer coefficients of up to 7000W/m•C, but because the sealing gaskets cannot withstand high temperatures, they are not suitable for direct use with steam media. To address this, our company has developed a steam-water direct heat exchanger (desuperheater) combined with a plate heat exchanger, the steam-water high-efficiency plate heat exchanger. It fully utilizes the advantages of both types of heat exchangers to achieve reliable operation and energy savings.
Introduction of the New Heat Exchange Plate
1) The plate corrugations are divided into two sides by the plate centerline, thus reducing the resistance difference between different flow channels and achieving the principle of thermal mixing. This allows for a perfect match between heat transfer, flow rate, and allowable pressure drop, significantly saving heat transfer area.
2) The heat exchanger plate is double-sided sealed, and the four corner holes of the plate can be sealed in any way according to the actual process conditions.
3) The unique design of the heat exchange plate allows for the assembly of different structural forms according to different processes. It can be assembled into both equal and unequal cross-sections, completely breaking away from the traditional unequal cross-section heat exchanger which is constituted by two different so-called A and B plates. The equipment precision is almost perfect. Even non-professionals can quickly disassemble and assemble it during cleaning.
4) The distribution and positioning use an internationally advanced grid-like distribution and dovetail slot hanging positioning system.
